The holidays are upon us and I am thinking of all the changes that are here and will mean that the new year really is new in many respects. My Aunt and Uncle, married for over 20 years, are going to be divorced. They have decided not to tell their children until after Christmas, so all of us that know have to put on a happy face when we go there tomorrow. I'm most worried about their children and where they will land in this whole mess.
My FIL and his wife are also splitting. We thought that maybe it was another false alarm (having been there before), but alas, it is not the case and FIL has bought himself a house.
And then, of course, I am not going to be in school for a year. I don't remember the last time I was out of school for this long and it's kind of scary.
That being said, we are healthy, we have a weird, wonderful family, we don't live in a country that is war-torn or subject to famine or tsunamis. We will have food on our table, presents under our tree and smiling faces around our dinner table. My dearest wish is that everyone, everywhere be so blessed, but I have other wishes too. I looked over last year's list and almost all of them came true for which I am truly grateful. So here goes my list (for my bloggy peeps):
I wish for:
*Mr. and Mrs. Spit's dearest dreams to come true
*Perseus' safe arrival
*The safe arrival of Chelle's baby girl
*The dearest dreams of Shaina to come true
*A fat and happy Robbie and a well-rested and contented Trish
*An exciting and happy year for Holdyn as he grows and learns about his sister Birdie in heaven
*A BFP for Natalie
*The safe arrival of Niobe's babe and a contented Kyrie
*The safe arrival of CLC's babe
*Peace for Rob and Jenell
*The safe arrival of Travelwahine's babe
*An end to the illness and not eating (on Harry's part) at the Hairy Farmer family house
*Big smiles from Lala's twins
*Endless piles of yarn for the Witty Knitter (and me and Mrs. Spit)
I know there's more. I'm also thinking about S, Nat, Mr. and Mrs. Shoes, Bon, Julie, Julia, Kristen, Aunt Becky, Aurelia, Tash, Mel, G, Ahuva and Sam.
Whatever holiday you do or don't celebrate, my love goes out to each of you with best wishes for the year ahead.
Merry Christmas
PS Thanks to Mrs. Spit for the inspiration behind this post.
