Real Nice

Seven years ago my grandmother left us to rejoin her husband and the baby she miscarried in heaven.
I miss her so much.
She had to leave school after grade 3 because she was needed at home. For that reason, she was always very proud of my education. I know she felt that hers was lacking.
But Nan.
You are still the most amazing woman I know.

The heart doesn't care about papers or letters after your name.
When it calls out in love and is answered with the same, nothing else matters.
I still feel your love answering mine.
But what I wouldn't give to hold your hand again.

And I suspect she is very proud indeed.

It is hard to be in those moments where you so whole-heartedly miss someone. Grandma's are the best.
