Ding dong

Well, there are no church bells at our church, but I was there on Sunday.
Yes!
I went back to church.
My family was thrilled. It was good to go back. I was welcomed and at one point, got teary-deary all of a sudden. After all, church was such a huge part of my life when I was younger.
Now here's my question for you.
Does it really matter which "version" you follow? Myself, I'm drawn both to Baptist and Catholic services. So, ideally, I would like to be a Baptolic or a Cathotist. But is that naughty of me? Should I stick to one or another? Is this a really silly question?

In other news I'm almost at my hundredth post!

In other other news, I have been reading the blogs lately and even though I haven't been commenting as much, I would like to express my love and support of three women in particular:

Mrs. Spit
Trish
Shaina

Much love to all of you.

I think it matters both a great deal, and not that much.

It's good to remember that churches aren't museum's of saints, they are hospitals for sinners. There will always be less than perfect Christian behaviour at churches, because the people who attend aren't perfect.

As to being Catholic or Baptist, I've been Anglican and Baptist. I went back to the church and theology of my childhood - what I was comfortable with.

There would be parts of the Catholic faith that I would be very uncomfortable with, that I simply couldn't say were in line with what I believe the Scriptures say.

I agree, I certainly don't expect perfection from others. How can I when I know how imperfect I am? I'm sorry, I'm going to edit my post. I shouldn't have written that, not after my writing on the wall post. How hypocritical.
Yes, there are parts of the Catholic faith that I am not comfortable with either. That's why it would be a blend.

Love you sweet pea!

Welcome back to church. Go a time for me, too. We haven't been able to go because of quarantine. When I thought we were going to be released, I told David we were going to go that Sunday.

So much for that.

Oh well, our Baptist church will still be there in May, right?

As for choosing a church- my hubby was raised Baptist.
I was raised non-denominational.

I definitely prefer the Baptist church that I joined a few years ago. But I will say that I joined it mainly because it felt like home to me and because I agreed with the theology overall. (it's a church 2 1/2 hours away, though.)

I also have some disagreements with some of the Catholic interpretations of things, so I couldn't be one, but if that's where you feel at home.. that's where you should be.

Have you visited a number of churches? The hubby and I visited a new one every Sunday until I felt right.
And when we found it, we KNEW.

We will eventually transfer our membership over.. but I would like to be in the habit of going before requesting that. So maybe in the summer.

enough babbling from me..

Hope you enjoyed the service!
